thanx for your quick answer. i did not double-clicked the checkbox. anyway - today (after a reboot) the checkbox is checked - as i wanted?! strange behavior. so for all who having the same problem - a system reboot could be the solution

I&#039;m guessing that you are having problems with the checkbox because you are double-clicking. A single-click is all you need to turn caching back on; the second click is just turning it back off again. If that is not the case then I would try reinstalling the Flash player. 

Subsequently, I&#039;m guessing that you can&#039;t change the storage size slider because the &quot;Store common Flash components to reduce download time&quot; option is unchecked.

BUT: 
i know have trouble with reverting back to the default setting. if i try to reenable the &quot;Store common Flash components to reduce download time.&quot; option, a popup asks me, whether i agree that shared components will be deleted. if i say yes - nothing happens .... the option keeps unchecked. the same strange behavior is with the slider for the storage size - it keeps zero ... 

any sugestions?
