Southern California Fires

Being a resident of Southern California, my family and I have been directly effected by the recent fires. We live in Lake Arrowhead area and have been evacuated from our home for a week now. I have been receiving a lot of emails lately concerning the fires and many of them have pictures. So I thought I'd share some of them:

I also came across some more professional photos that I think are outstanding. Check them out here. My heart goes out to those who have tragically lost their homes. Please send them your prayers!

Change is Coming

A while back I built myself this blog and a nice little website to go with it, but the problem is that I never completed either. You know how quickly life can change and before you know it you don't have time for such things. Well, I'm going to make time! Because even though nobody ever sees this blog, I don't want it to be just dead space anymore.

I have decided that I will work on my blog or my website a little everyday until they are complete. I am going to start by redesigning this blog so that it matches my website. In the process I am going to be writing a multi-part blog series on how I will be doing this. So keep you eyes peeled, change is coming.

Everything Has a Beginning

Welcome to the birth of KalenGibbons.com, my virtual home. My name, of course, is Kalen Gibbons and I'm a Web Developer from Lake Arrowhead, Ca. My website and my blog are intended for both personal and professional use and promotion. I hold no notion that I will update this blog on a regular basis but I will post information from time to time that may be of interest. For those who know me, this will be the easiest way to keep up-to-date with what's going on in my life.

My primary goal for this blog is to spread technical information that I think others will find useful. Often, when programming, I'll run into trouble and have to scour the Internet for the answer. I plan to post How-To's and problem solutions that I come across that will hopefully help others, like myself, looking desperately for answers. As part of the programming community I would like to do my part, by helping make programmers lives easier, just like many others have done for me.

If you've found this blog because you are an acquaintance or a loved one, please take the time to say hello by posting a comment or sending an email on the website. Thanks.
